Insurance Plan Comparison

With Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Part D options that change every year across Bernalillo, Sandoval, Santa Fe, and San Juan Counties, comparison is everything. We line up the options we offer in your county against your specific providers, drugs, and budget, and bring you the two or three that truly fit. We do not offer every plan available in your area. For a complete list of every plan in your county, use Medicare Plan Compare or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

What we compare, in order

 1. Your doctors — in network for that specific plan year, including the hospital.
 2. Your prescriptions — on the formulary, at what tier, with what restrictions.
 3. Total annual cost — premium plus expected cost sharing, not the premium alone.
 4. The out-of-pocket maximum — your worst case in a bad year.
 5. Extras — dental, vision, hearing, transport, only after the above.

Apples to apples

We compare premiums, drug deductibles, maximum out-of-pocket, networks, and extra benefits side by side — so you choose with confidence rather than on an advertised premium.

The reason this matters: two plans with identical $0 premiums can differ by thousands of dollars a year once your actual drugs and doctors are applied.

Doing it yourself

You can compare every plan in your county independently on Medicare Plan Compare, entering your drugs and pharmacy. We'd rather you did that than choose blind — and we're happy to sanity-check what you find.

Why we re-do it every autumn

Premiums, formularies, networks, and extra benefits all reset each January, and you're auto-renewed if you do nothing. The October 15 – December 7 Annual Enrollment Period is when we re-run the comparison as part of your annual review.

What it costs

Nothing. Carriers pay our fee, never you, and the plan premium is the same either way.

Not sure which of these fits you? A free 15-minute call with a licensed local advisor sorts it out — no pressure, and no cost to you. We do not offer every plan available in your area. For a complete list of every plan in your county, use Medicare Plan Compare or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

What we need from you

The comparison is only as good as the inputs, and these four take five minutes to gather.

 • Your ZIP code — plan availability is set by county.
 • Every doctor and specialist you see, plus your preferred hospital.
 • Every prescription with its dose, including ones you take occasionally.
 • Your pharmacy, and whether mail order would suit you.

We come back with a short list rather than a catalogue — typically two or three plans with the reasoning for each, and the honest trade-offs. If your current plan is still the best available to you, that's a legitimate outcome and we'll tell you so.

Questions, answered

How many plans do you compare?

Every Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Part D plan we offer where you live, across Bernalillo, Sandoval, Santa Fe, and San Juan Counties. We do not offer every plan available in your area — for all options, visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

Will you check my specific medications?

Yes — that's the single biggest source of savings. Send your list with doses and we'll check each drug's tier and restrictions across the plans we offer.

Does comparing cost me anything?

No. There's no fee and no obligation, and the plan costs the same whether you enrol with us or on your own.
